Suburban Boy Dave Warner first made his name in music with the gold album Mugs Game (1978) and was named by Bob Dylan as his favourite Australian artist.

In addition to recording ten albums, Dave is an award-winning novelist (Ned Kelly for Best Australian Crime Fiction, WA Premier’s Award for Literature) with nine published adult crime novels. He also writes children’s novels and non-fiction books. Dave has written stage musicals, and also screenplays for television and film. His TV credits include Packed to the Rafters, Never Tear Us Apart and McLeods Daughters. His feature films have starred Molly Ringwald, Kylie Minogue and Travis Fimmel.

Dave’s most recent novel River of Salt, set in 1963 on the NSW north-coast introduces the genre of surf noire. Dave is also currently recording a new album, working on feature film scripts and a book of the lyrics of many of the five hundred songs he has written.
